Dr. Mary Smith
Dr.
Mary Smith (pictured at right holding Daisy) is a 2nd-generation veterinarian. She is an Alabama native hailing from Scottsboro. She spent many summers at her father's
vet office, where she played as a girl, assisted him with pets and
then eventually grew to be a receptionist.
After attending Auburn University for undergraduate studies and graduating
from Auburn's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, she and her husband Bruce worked in
Newnan, GA.
In 1992, Mary bought Auburn Veterinary Hospital, where she concentrates
on small animals. She primarily sees dogs, cats and ferrets. In her free time
she enjoys flower gardening, reading, needlework and sporting clays.
She is also a member of Farmville Baptist Church.
Dr. Kelley A. Ethridge
Dr. Kelley A. Ethridge grew up in an Air Force family, moving every
three years. Her relatives reside in Massachusetts. She graduated
from Niceville High School in Niceville, FL and attended both the
University of Florida in Gainesville and University of West Florida
in Pensacola as an undergraduate.
In 1989, she married Carl Ethridge and graduated from the University
of West Florida. She moved to Montgomery, AL in 1990 and worked as
an associate chemist before attending Auburn University Veterinary
School, and graduating in 1996. She worked in Tallassee, AL for a
year and Montgomery, AL for a year-and-a-half before settling down
at Auburn Veterinary Hospital with Dr. Mary Smith.
She has two children, a little boy born September 1998 and a little
girl born January 2001. She lives on the outskirts of Auburn in Notasulga
and is active as President of the Methodist Women’s Club in
the church and Treasurer of the local vet association, East Alabama
Vet Med Association, since 2001.
Kelley does primarily small animal work and has a special interest
in rabbits. She enjoys reading, gardening and baking, but mostly spending
time with her family.
